Columbia operates out of a 9,000 square foot facility located in Burnsville, Minnesota. Columbia, celebrating its 29th year in business in April of 2011, has always conducted business from a Burnsville location. Columbia has acquired most of its customers through trade conferences and referrals.

We have extensive experience in machining a wide variety of stock materials including all alloy steels, aluminum in a variety of grades, bronze, brass, multiple grades of carbon steel, multiple varieties of plastics and nylons, multiple grades of stainless steel, titanium and tool steels. Most of Columbia's production parts are low to medium volume with typical orders in a 5-50 part range, though Columbia is a noted one-off/prototype machine shop as well as performing light assemblies and silk screening. With the JobBoss ERP system as well as in-house programming capabilities, i.e. vertical Gibbs and Solidworks, Columbia prides itself as being a leader for our size in 2, 3, & 4 axis machining. Columbia's reputation for precision, quality and timely delivery is excellent.

Columbia enjoys a sterling reputation within its niche market. We have earned the right to increased business opportunities with our customers as we can be relied on to deliver defect free products. We also have developed a strong reputation for quality parts delivered for prototype quick turn needs. Columbia has two production sides, manual equipment for short-run and prototype requirements and CNC equipment for higher production and/or more complex shapes. Columbia is a Northrop Grumman preferred supplier, as well as a certified supplier to a number of other customers.
